On March 04, 2025, police in Des Plaines, Illinois, were sent to the Des Plaines Public Library on the report that a group of males were loitering in the entryway consuming alcohol. Although the group left before police could arrive, the men returned, and so did officers. Two of the men left peacefully, however one remained. Christopher Scott insisted he was doing nothing wrong, and denied drinking alcohol, despite having an open container. He refused to leave the library, and eventually resisted arrest.
