The officer was behind the suspect vehicle and prior to initiating his emergency lighting, a witness stated to investigators that the suspect pulled over and got out of the vehicle with his hands up. As the officer started getting out of his vehicle, the suspect reached for a gun and began shooting several rounds at the officer. The officer was able to return fire as the suspect got back in his vehicle and fled the scene. The officer was injured and believed to have been shot, but found out later at the hospital that the injuries he sustained resulted from flying debris from the patrol vehicle during the shootout. The officer followed the suspect for about a mile before his patrol vehicle became disabled. At this point, responding Fort Worth officers continued pursuing the suspect vehicle into a neighboring city. The suspect, 33-year-old Devoreia Thompson, was found and arrested at his Arlington home Sunday night, within two hours of the shootout. The officer has been with the Fort Worth Police Department for a year and a half and is a lateral transfer officer from a neighboring agency. He was discharged from the hospital on Sunday night with minor injuries and is with his family. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Special thanks to Shout-Out Supporters on Patreon: - 'DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse' - Brian Parker - Sean Sheldon - Marvin Tobar - Lee Roberts - 'Mr. Unknown' - Katie Eberl - 'iqtester.org' - Josef Rex - 'Skydog' - Jesse - Ádám Lampért - Sabrina Bewey - Kelly Goodwin - Anthony Martinez - 'wuzy' - 'Jun' - 'Xenik' - 'Rom' - kyle McBurnett - 'Fishy Tuna' - 'GotsNoGroove Cheryl' - 'CombatKid' - Exus Altimus - 'Dawesenm' - Paul Rohrbaugh - 'Krazy KZ' - Koby Bland - Christopher Payne - Zach Williams - Michael R Sheffield - Rich Biggs - 'JTrip' - Brant Eaton - 'wvot' - James Pringle - 'AccuShoot.com' - Meighan Garrick - 'Sopaul' - Lisa Overly - Connor Davies - 'Necko' - Gerardo Flores - Anthony Eufemio - 'Donkbot' - Gage Kissinger - 'coco Coco' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Support us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/PoliceActivity Follow us on X: https://x.com/Police_Activity 🛍️ Check out our Amazon store: https://www.amazon.com/shop/PoliceActivity 🛍️ Disclosure: Please note that we will receive a small commission from purchases made through our Amazon store.
