On March 26, 2026, Rio Rancho Police Officer Reniere observed a driver with no seat belt on. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 50-year-old woman. Officer Reniere noticed two open White Claw containers in the front seat of the vehicle and the woman admitted to consuming alcohol about 30 minutes prior. As a result, she was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. After the tests, she was placed under arrest. At the police station, she provided two breath samples, which registered 0.22% and 0.21% BAC. She was charged with (1) Aggravated Driving While Under the Influence (3rd Offense); (2) Failure to Wear a Seat Belt; and (3) Having an Open Container of Alcohol. Her case is still open and her next court date is July 28, 2026. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
