On February 17, 2026, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a hit and run car accident. Callers were reporting that a Dodge Charger fled the scene without a front left tire and rim. Deputies located the vehicle, which was being driven by a 25-year-old woman. 3 Beat Boxes were located in the vehicle and the woman had no driver's license. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, but she was too intoxicated to complete all of them. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Sheriff's Office for a breath test. The results from two breath samples were 0.23% and 0.24% BAC. She was charged with: (1) Aggravated Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor; (2) Reckless Driving; (3) Leaving the Scene of an Accident; (4) Having No Driver's License; and (5) Having an Open Container of Alcohol. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
