Around 3:28 PM on March 19, 2024, Johns Creek Police Department officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Knollcrest Boulevard involving a 2023 Range Rover that turned sideways and caught fire on a residential lawn. An officer arrived within minutes, deployed a fire extinguisher to knock down flames, then broke the sunroof to reach the trapped driver. With assistance from another officer, they pulled the occupant out through the sunroof. A responding officer later took over the investigation while fire crews extinguished remaining hot spots and EMS evaluated the driver. According to the report, the vehicle accelerated in reverse, struck a subdivision light pole, a Georgia Power electrical box, and other objects before rolling over and igniting a grass fire. The driver was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
