🚨 130 MPH Trans Am Tears Through Crawford County — Stop Sticks End the Chase (April 7, 2024) A Crawford County deputy clocked a black 1995 Pontiac Trans Am screaming northbound on Highway 19 at 125 mph. As the deputy turned around to stop the car, the driver — James C. Ray — pushed the Trans Am even harder. Ray blasted into Cuba, Missouri, hitting 110+ mph in a 35 mph zone, then blew through multiple four‑way intersections at 120 mph. He passed cars on blind hills, ignored no‑passing zones, and used the shoulder of I‑44 to overtake traffic while pushing the Trans Am to 130+ mph. The chase continued eastbound on I‑44, where Ray exited, ran stop signs, re‑entered the interstate, and kept accelerating. After exiting again at Mile Marker 214, he tore down Old Route 66 at over 100 mph. Bourbon Police deployed stop sticks near Johnson Street, successfully deflating both front tires. Even with two flats, Ray kept fleeing at 95 mph before finally rolling to a stop at Bourbon City Hall. Ray surrendered with his hands in the air. During the arrest, he admitted he fled because he had no valid license and no ignition interlock device, which he was legally required to have.
