At approximately 6:30 p.m. on March 20, Denver police responded to reports of an armed individual in the alley behind Annunciation Catholic School, located in the 3500 block of North Humboldt Street in the Cole neighborhood. Callers reported seeing a man possibly carrying both a knife and a handgun in the alley. Upon arrival, officers discovered a makeshift shelter constructed from cardboard. When they removed the cardboard, they found 57-year-old Jose Medina holding a firearm. Despite multiple commands to drop the weapon, Medina did not comply. In response, four officers fired a total of 16 rounds, striking him multiple times. Officers immediately placed Medina in handcuffs before transporting him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 10 p.m. Subsequent investigation revealed that the firearm Medina was holding was a replica handgun, which shattered when officers shot it from his hands. 0:00 - Intro 0:16 - Bodycam footage 2:01 - Shooting #PoliceShooting #DenverNews #BreakingNews #HomelessCrisis #UseOfForce #OfficerInvolvedShooting #JoseMedina #ReplicaGun #LawEnforcement #PoliceResponse #BodyCamFootage #SchoolSafety #ColoradoNews #PublicSafety #PoliceInvestigation Disclaimer: The following content contains graphic scenes of violence that may be disturbing to some viewers.
