Three separate 911 calls reported a collision in a residential parking lot involving a black vehicle and a gray SUV. Witnesses told dispatch that the woman inside the SUV appeared impaired and might attempt to drive away before police arrived. An officer located the SUV as it was leaving the neighborhood and conducted a traffic stop nearby. During the encounter, the driver denied that a crash had occurred, repeatedly asked to return home, and refused to turn off the vehicle, surrender the keys, step outside, or participate in sobriety exercises. The officer reported observing several signs of possible impairment. After the driver continued refusing commands, officers removed her from the SUV and placed her under arrest. At the jail, she was given another opportunity to participate in sobriety exercises and was read the required warnings, but she did not provide a valid breath sample. She was charged with resisting an officer without violence, leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, DUI with property damage, and refusing to submit to testing. Bond was set at $500 on each charge, for a total of $2,000, and she was later released after posting bond. The criminal case remains open. Court records do not currently list a plea or final resolution for any of the charges. All charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
