On March 13, 2025, Long Branch Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident involving one of their officers. The 62-year-old driver of an Audi slammed into the back of a police vehicle, causing the police vehicle to hit the vehicle in front of it. The female officer in the police vehicle was transported to the hospital. Meanwhile, Officer O'Brien conducted a DUI investigation on the driver of the Audi. At the conclusion of field sobriety testing, the woman was arrested for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor. She was transported to the Long Branch Police Headquarters, where she agreed to submit breath samples. The result was 0.18% BAC.
