On January 29, 2023, officers in Arizona responded to an incident where a female driver crashed into a fence. The vehicle, a green Ford Explorer, was found with a flat tire and emitting steam from the radiator. The suspect, who had refused further medical treatment at the scene, displayed signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol and marijuana. An open container of liquor and marijuana paraphernalia was found inside her vehicle, adding to the suspicion of driving under the influence. Field sobriety tests were administered after the suspect consented, and the results indicated impairment. Despite her efforts, the suspect displayed multiple signs of intoxication during the standardized field sobriety tests. She struggled with balance, misunderstood instructions, and showed physical indicators of inebriation. This led to her arrest on suspicion of DUI. During the arrest process, the suspect resisted slipping her handcuffs and kicking an officer, escalating the situation to further charges. Following the arrest, the suspect's behavior continued to be erratic and non-compliant. She misunderstood the breathalyzer results and attempted to tamper with the handcuffs, further complicating the booking process. After processing, the breath test results indicated blood alcohol concentrations of 0.136% and 0.145%, substantiating the charges against her.
