Today, we examine a high-intensity shootout captured on body camera footage released by the Tulsa Police Department in Oklahoma. The incident unfolded last Tuesday in a QuikTrip parking lot and rapidly escalated into an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS). Officers confronted 34-year-old John Terry Chatman Jr., who immediately opened fire on them. Chatman, a convicted felon, was armed with a .32 caliber revolver. Following the exchange of gunfire, Chatman was shot and subsequently arrested. A federal grand jury has since indicted Chatman on multiple severe charges, including Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, Obstruction of Justice by Attempting to Kill a Witness, and Carrying, Using, and Discharging a Firearm During a Crime of Violence.
