On May 2, 2025, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Police Officers Nasir Willey and Christopher Barral responded to Pier A Park, on reports of a man yelling at other people in the area. When they got there, witnesses pointed out the individual, later identified as a 25-year-old male of Hoboken, and told officers the suspect had become aggressive with other people. He was found to have an open warrant out of Hoboken for disorderly conduct. He was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing. Later, during transport to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, he became erratic, spit on the back seat glass, and kicked the window bars. He continued to kick and spit, despite the officers' orders to stop doing so. He became aggressive with officers and began yelling at them, using vulgar language. It was later discovered that the suspect had broken a door handle in the back seat. He was additionally charged with criminal mischief and ultimately transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
