Around 11:25 PM, he was patrolling Ocean Avenue in Monmouth Beach when he saw a 2012 BMW speeding north. The car was moving at 53 MPH in a 40 MPH zone. Golembieski followed as the driver swerved and struck a curb. He turned on his lights and stopped the BMW on Ocean Boulevard near Broadway in Long Branch. He also radioed dispatch and identified the driver as Deidre. As he approached, Golembieski noticed that Deidre did not seem well. He asked for her driver's license and vehicle papers, but she had only the car registration. Deidre said she had just left her job at Colts Neck Country Club and was heading home after dropping off a friend. She admitted drinking alcohol before driving. Patrolman Peter Farmer arrived to assist. After checking the registration, Golembieski believed Deidre was impaired and asked her to leave the car. She then completed several sobriety tests. Golembieski started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Deidre then attempted the Walk and Turn, but she struggled. She failed to touch heel-to-toe, turned in the wrong direction, and miscounted her steps. During the One Leg Stand, she could not lift her foot properly. Her count was wrong, and she put her foot down too soon. The final test checked her eye convergence. Deidre's driving had been erratic, and she had admitted drinking before getting behind the wheel. She performed poorly on the roadside tests, so the officer arrested her. A search of the BMW found an open High Noon, which was illegal to possess. The car was impounded and held for 12 hours under John's Law. Golembieski took Deidre to the station for processing. After processing, Deidre was considered sober and released, with a court appearance required. Someone signed the Potential Liability Warning on her behalf. Golembieski then issued several citations, including operating under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, and speeding. She was also cited for driving over marked lanes, having an open container, and lacking a driver's license and insurance card. Over the next two years, Deidre collected numerous parking tickets in Asbury Park, Sea Bright, and Red Bank. By November 26, 2024, many remained unpaid. The court records document the full history of her parking violations. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
