On September 15, 2023, at approximately 1:20 AM, an officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle make multiple turns without signaling and nearly strike a curb. Upon contact, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol and observed the 19-year-old driver to have watery, bloodshot eyes, leading to suspicion of impairment. The driver was uncooperative, refusing field sobriety exercises, which resulted in her arrest for driving under the influence. At police headquarters, after being read her rights, she provided breath samples, revealing a blood alcohol content of 0.179%, and admitted to recent alcohol consumption.
