*Happy Taco Tuesday 🌮!* *In Arkansas, shoplifting (theft of property) becomes robbery under Arkansas Code § 5-12-102 if force or threatened, immediate physical harm is used against a person during the theft or in immediate flight after. This elevates a misdemeanor theft to a Class B or C felony, regardless of the item's value.*    On 2/6/2026 at 1454 hours, I, Officer Lane, responded to 315 S James St- Edwards Cash Saver in reference to theft. Upon arrival, I made contact with Adrian Humes, suspect. Humes advised he didn't do anything and consented to search. Smith, the reporting person, advised he no longer had the item on him as she took it before he was able to walk out the store. I observed on camera footage Humes putting the SUKarne Economy Beef Whole New York Strip valued at $50.33 into his jacket and walking down the aisle. He made it to the front of the store until Smith stopped him from exiting. While Smith attempted to stop him from leaving, he pushed and shoved Smith in the chest and stomach. I made contact with Humes. Humes was slurring his words, barely standing up straight, and I could smell the alcohol on his breath and body. His behavior indicated he was intoxicated. While trying to place Humes in handcuffs, he resisted by constantly moving his hands and trying tograb gear on Ofc. Rowe's vest. Humes was placed on the ground with reasonable force until backup officers arrived. Humes was transported straight to PCRDF due to his combative behavior.
