MARION COUNTY, FLORIDA — On June 27, 2025, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle with illegal tint and a partially obscured license plate. The driver, 24-year-old Jordan Skeene, initially pulled into a parking lot, then reversed into the deputy’s cruiser and fled the scene at high speed. What followed was a dangerous pursuit — Skeene struck mailboxes, plowed through fences, and ultimately lost control of the vehicle. After being PIT maneuvered, he fled on foot but was quickly arrested. Inside the vehicle, deputies found a 1-year-old child in the backseat, along with a firearm and marijuana. Skeene, a convicted felon, was already on probation until 2027 for a previous fleeing case.
