It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: At around 7:10 a.m. on September 22, 2024, Officer Anthony Walsh from the Boonton Township Police was called to Powerville Road near Rockaway Valley Road. Someone reported a driver who might be impaired. Officer Walsh soon found a 2007 Toyota Camry matching the description near Kinnelon Road. He stopped the car and spoke with the driver, identified as Christine. Christine said she pulled over to look for her cigarettes. When Officer Walsh asked for her documents, he noticed signs that she could be impaired. She denied drinking alcohol or using drugs before driving. A few moments later, Officer Paul Ryan arrived to help. While Officer Walsh checked Christine’s information in his car, she admitted she was feeling tired. When Walsh came back, he saw her nodding off behind the wheel. He woke her up and noticed her speech was slurred. She still showed signs of impairment. Concerned, the officers asked her to get out of the car and perform field sobriety tests. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN). Next was the Walk and Turn. Christine struggled, missing heel-to-toe steps and using her arms for balance. The last was the One Leg Stand. During this, she couldn’t keep her foot up and put it down early. Her inability to perform the tests and her signs of impairment led Officer Walsh to arrest her for driving while intoxicated. They searched her car after the arrest. Then, Walsh took her to the Kinnelon Police Station for more processing. At the station, she was read her rights and agreed to give breath tests. The tests showed her blood alcohol level was 0.00%. Still, officers suspected she might have been under the influence of something else. They searched for a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) within the county. None was available. Christine was later released to her boyfriend, who signed a form taking responsibility. She was issued tickets for DWI, reckless driving, and careless driving. By January 8, 2025, all three charges were dismissed because prosecutors didn’t move forward. But Christine had other run-ins with the law before. She was arrested in Montville on November 18, 2024, for possession. She also faced charges in Pequannock in July 2024, a DWI arrest in Parsippany in June 2024, and another arrest in Wayne in July 2020. 8:46 thats not the face of someone who doesn’t do drugs lol If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
