Michigan FOIAs are expensive, legally gray, and take us a lot of time. Please consider supporting the channel by becoming a member, sending a super, or dropping us a like! Incident Information: On November 22nd, 2024, Ann Arbor Police (Washtenaw County, Michigan) were dispatched to Elmwood Avenue and Oakwood Street for a possible Larceny From Automobile (LFA) complaint. A caller had reported unknown men checking car door handles in the neighborhood. Upon arrival to the area, police located several males loitering in the area. Upon identifying themselves as police, the men started running. Police were able to keep up with one suspect, who apparently hopped over a bridge and sustained an injury. Police ordered him out of the water at TASER point. The subject refused to identify. AAPD requested a fingerprint scanner. A nearby trooper responded, but the network was temporarily down. Once it came back online, he met the AAPD officers at the hospital. The suspect had no intention of cooperating. He shook his head to avoid a good photo for facial recognition, and, according to police reports, began exposing/touching himself in an apparent attempt to defeat the fingerprint scanner. During the incident, a state trooper, AAPD officer, and possibly hospital security guards were subjected to his saliva. Ultimately, the fingerprint scanner was not defeated by the unorthodox evasion tactics, and he was identified as Ronald Moody. He was lodged at WCJ on numerous felonies and two misdemeanors.
