On July 29, 2025, Wheaton Police were called to a Pace bus stop regarding a passenger who refused to pay the full fare or exit the vehicle. The situation escalated instantly when officers boarded the bus to escort the subject off. The passenger, identified as Joel Ramirez, pulled out a lighter and attempted to set the seat directly in front of her on fire. When officers moved in to stop the arson attempt, Ramirez lunged at them and, during the struggle in the narrow aisle, attempted to bite an officer on the forearm. Watch the chaotic arrest unfold in the confined space of a city bus. This video is for educational and informational purposes only.
