On the 16th day of August 2023, I was patrolling south on Alabama Street in Marianna. While looking for violations, I noticed a golden Toyota Camry traveling northbound on Alabama Street. I made a U-turn to attempt to investigate the vehicle tag, but the vehicle quickly turned onto Mann Road. Once I was on Mann Rd, the suspect slowed down briefly and began throwing objects out of his vehicle window. The suspect then turned north onto Popular Street and accelerated to a high rate of speed. As I approached the intersection of Popular Street and MLK, I activated my emergency equipment but the suspect failed to slow. I radioed Troop - D communications and advised them I was in pursuit. The fleeing vehicle sped through the city streets of Marianna, circling several neighborhoods. He disobeyed multiple traffic signs and swerved into oncoming lanes of traffic. At one point, reaching speeds of 90-plus miles per hour traveling on Alabama St. As the pursuit approached the Anna Strong Housing Authority, the driver turned on Jordan St and stopped. At that time, I exited my vehicle and began to perform a felony takedown. The driver complied with all commands and was taken into custody. I told the driver his Miranda Rights and questioned him about the object he threw. He stated it was a handgun and a small digital scale. Both of these items were recovered. When asked if he threw out any drugs, he stopped talking. No drugs were found. The suspect vehicle had never been registered, and the tags on the vehicle returned to a different vehicle belonging to the suspect. The suspects vehicle was not towed but requested to be released to Cierra Jones by the suspect. It was left at her residence on scene. The suspect was transported to Marianna Police Department and charged with the below-listed charges. 5-54-125(d)(4): FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY 5-64-443(a)(1): POSSESS DRUG PARAPHERNALIA 27-50-302(a)(7): SPEEDING - MORE THAN 15 MPH OVER LIMIT 27-14-306: FICTITIOUS TAGS 27-14-701: OWNER FAIL TO REGISTER VEHICLE - EXPIRED For channel donations & to help us keep bringing you more entertaining & educational videos & content here’s the link thank you guys for PayPal 💙 https://www.paypal.me/ASPChases & here is the Venmo for Donations as well https://venmo.com/u/ASPC-ASPC thanks for all the support and brave troopers.
