North Royalton, Ohio -- Police with the NRPD noticed a female who was "drunk-like" and that "her shift was loose". They saw the woman enter her car and ran her plates which turned out to be expired. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver admitted that the plates were expired. Eventually the officer tried to perform a SFST in the car but she refused to allow the officers. The woman then proceeded to refuse to leave the vehicle. Eventually she did. Police searched her vehicle and found a total of 7 open containers (all fireball and vodka bottles) She refused to take a breath test and had to be placed into DETOX. The woman, later identified as Karen Turner, was charged with the following: - Open container (dismissed) - Obstructing official business (amended down to disorderly conduct) - Failure to display OL (dismissed) - Expired Plates (dismissed) - OVI (amended down to physical control) Her license was suspended for 120 days with privileges. She was given jail time, however all was either suspended or credited. She was given probation.
