On March 22, 2025, Addison, Illinois police officers responded to a disturbance at Portillo's restaurant. Officers say 38-year-old Rachel Moreno was yelling threats at staff and customers, then fled the scene with two children who were not in her custody. When officers located her inside Jewel-Osco, Moreno allegedly ran, hid under a vehicle, and pepper sprayed two officers in the face during the arrest. She also kicked another officer in the abdomen before being restrained. Moreno is charged with: - 3 counts of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer - 3 counts of Aggravated Violation of an Order of Protection - Obstructing a Peace Officer - Disorderly Conduct Both officers were treated by paramedics.
