https://youtu.be/zMkrcMu3pGg?si=oXzYxN-XkITVIMeV A 12-year-old girl tells her mother that a man inside Target appears to be following and recording her. Her father arrives, confronts the man and blocks his vehicle until police get there. What begins as one father's allegation quickly becomes a much larger investigation involving Target surveillance footage, multiple phones, deleted video—and a surprising revelation about the man's profession. In this new format for To Catch A Body Cam, I'm watching the footage with you, reacting in real time and stopping along the way to talk about what we're seeing. According to police records discussed in the source video, investigators later reported finding videos of young girls who appeared to be under 15 on the man's phone, and digital analysis reportedly confirmed that footage had been deleted. The case ultimately resulted in a plea agreement involving a tampering charge, probation and other conditions. One of the biggest takeaways for me has nothing to do with the adults: a 12-year-old felt uncomfortable, trusted her instincts and spoke up—and the adults around her listened. ⚠️ This video contains commentary and discussion of allegations involving a minor. Allegations and observations discussed before the case outcome are presented as such. Commentary represents my reactions to the footage and publicly reported case information.
