** (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) ** Two Bryant police officers are being recognized as heroes after they saved a man from a burning car along Interstate 30 on Tuesday. These officers were not properly equipped or trained to do this kind of rescue, but they were not willing to let this man die. “It was very scary. It was nerve-racking, to say the least,” said Officer Mark Kling, one of the first officers to respond. Radio traffic captured a recording of the following statement made by one of the responding officers: “He will not get out of the car. I cannot get him out. The smoke is too thick.” When an officer got there, he found the driver, 31-year-old Bilal Al-Amin, awake but in a daze and unresponsive. He was allegedly under the influence of narcotics. Officer Kling first broke through the passenger window with a baton, but thick smoke prevented him from being able to unbuckle the driver and pull him out.
