What started as a routine speeding stop unraveled into one of the strangest DUI investigations of the year. The driver -- a 39-year-old mother in pajamas with her 4-year-old son in the back seat -- immediately told the officer her son couldn't breathe and she was rushing to the emergency room. Seconds later, her son was fine and her father was the one having a stroke. She claimed she was a nurse. She said she went to police academy. She said her mom was right behind her, but no one ever showed up. The officer noticed she kept turning her steering wheel while the car was supposedly parked. When officers finally got her out of the vehicle, they found open bottles of Smirnoff Pink Lemonade vodka -- one in the driver's door panel, one on the floorboard, and another in the back seat near her child. Her license was already suspended due to a prior refusal to submit to a breath test. At the jail, she agreed to take a breath test, then claimed she couldn't blow because of bronchitis, laryngitis, breast cancer, a heart murmur, angina, broken ribs, and a permanent retainer. Her final words on the test: "I said I'm willing, but I am not able to." Her father tells deputies the whole story -- the felon ex-husband, the full custody, the stalking, the restraining orders, and the stroke he had during the divorce. His final line lands hard.
