On Friday, January 16th, 2026, officers initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling 40 mph in a 25 mph school zone in Hurst, Texas. What began as a routine traffic stop quickly escalated when the woman refused to comply with lawful orders and threw her citation out of the window. In the end, officers physically removed the woman from her vehicle and placed her under arrest on the ground after she threw her citation out of the window and repeatedly refused multiple lawful commands to step out. Officers then secured her in the back of a patrol car while ensuring no weapons or contraband were on her person, before the body camera footage ended. Based on the conduct documented in this body camera footage, the following charges could potentially apply: *Speeding in a School Zone: For traveling 40 mph in a clearly marked 25 mph school zone. *Littering: For throwing the traffic citation out of her car window onto the roadway. * Resisting Arrest: For refusing lawful orders to exit the vehicle and physically resisting officers' attempts to detain her. The final charges are determined by prosecutors based on the available evidence and applicable law. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
