Officers responded to a crash on Fountain St at Carroll St. When Akron Police arrived to find that the vehicle James was driving struck four other vehicles. Summit County Sheriff's Detective arrived just after the crash occurred. He found James in his vehicle, unresponsive, overdosing. Summit County Sheriff's Detective administered three doses of Narcan before EMS arrived. One of the Akron Police officers noticed James' pinpoint pupils as he was removed from his truck. While the driver was being tended to by medics, The officer asked James if he knew how the crash occurred. He stated he did not know. He denied any alcohol or drug use.
