[Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only] Barrie, Ontario, Canada — On July 30, 2026, a Barrie Police Service officer on general patrol near Perry Street and Milligan’s Pond observed suspicious activity. The officer identified the individual as a suspect wanted in connection with a series of commercial break-and-enters across the city. Upon being recognized, the suspect fled the area on a bicycle. Following a brief pursuit, Barrie Police officers and the Tactical Unit established a containment perimeter. Bodycam footage shows Police Service Dog 'Dutch' and his handler successfully tracking the suspect through the forested Milligan’s Pond area, where officers located and safely placed him under arrest. Following an intensive investigation utilizing CCTV footage, detectives linked the 42-year-old Barrie man to a month-long string of commercial burglaries. He faces 28 criminal charges, including 14 counts of break-and-enter, 10 counts of wearing a disguise with intent, and four counts of possessing break-in instruments.
