Officers respond to a minor traffic crash blocking lanes on a busy roadway. A woman initially claims she was only a passenger and that no one is injured. As traffic is cleared and identification is requested, officers note inconsistencies in her statements. She later admits she was actually driving, acknowledges being impaired, and tells officers she had been drinking bourbon earlier at her mother’s home. Police state she did not realize she struck another vehicle, shifting the incident from a crash investigation to a DUI inquiry. When field sobriety tests are offered, she first refuses, then agrees, before becoming verbally aggressive. Officers report that she lunges, kicks, and strikes them while resisting arrest. She is restrained and taken into custody. Court records indicate multiple felony charges remain open.
