On December 21st, 2023, officers in Ohio responded to a call from staff of a local bar reporting an intoxicated female who was attempting to drive home. Upon arrival, the staff member told the officers that the woman was no longer welcome at the establishment. Officers located the woman sitting at the bar, exhibiting clear signs of intoxication, and informed her she was no longer welcome at the bar. The woman told the officers she would drive home despite the officers informing her that was not an option. The situation escalated as the woman demanded that officers take her home or call her an Uber. Officers gave multiple warnings that she would be arrested for disorderly conduct if she did not find someone to care for her due to her being intoxicated. However, when the intoxicated woman was unable to secure a ride home from friends or family, she became increasingly belligerent towards the responding officers. Officers made the decision to place the suspect under arrest for Disorderly Conduct; however, the suspect pulled away from officers. The suspect continued to resist despite multiple instructions to put her hands behind her back as they placed her in handcuffs. The struggle continued outside the bar as she threatened officers while being escorted to the patrol vehicle. The suspect resisted being placed in the patrol vehicle and threw herself onto the ground. Eventually, the suspect was securely placed inside the patrol vehicle for transport to the police station.
