On July 12, 2025, Dona Ana County Sheriff's Deputy Gibbens stopped a vehicle for numerous traffic violations. The vehicle was being driven by a 25-year-old woman. Deputy Gibbens asked the woman to step out of the vehicle because he could smell alcohol and the woman had a trash bag full of open containers on her passenger seat. When asked how much alcohol she had consumed, she gave evasive and conflicting answers. When asked if she would perform standardized field sobriety tests, she told Deputy Gibbens to just arrest her. She eventually agreed to perform the tests, but they ultimately led to her arrest. At the Sheriff's Office, she provided two breath samples and they both recorded 0.16% BAC (twice the legal limit). Her charges are listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
