On September 8th, 2023, officers in West Des Moines, Iowa, responded to a report of flashlights seen at an abandoned apartment complex, suspecting illegal activities. Upon arrival, they spotted four teenagers fleeing the scene. After a brief foot chase, one suspect was arrested, who provided the names of the others. Officers later apprehended an 18-year-old female who was found in possession of a vape containing illegal drugs. Despite her cooperation during questioning, she was arrested and charged with drug possession. The two remaining suspects evaded capture, prompting further investigation.
