A 75-year-old Illinois woman faces theft charges after decorative concrete pumpkins were reported stolen from grave sites at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling. The items turned up displayed outside the suspect's home — located after the victim's family posted about the missing decorations on Facebook, prompting a relative to spot them on a drive-by. When deputies made contact, the woman insisted the pumpkins had simply shown up on her deck. After further questioning, she admitted to taking them — explaining she assumed the cemetery would discard any decorations left behind after a certain date. A Notice to Appear for Theft was issued.
