Late-night traffic enforcement turned into a full investigation after a vehicle was spotted traveling at high speeds before running a red light near 11th and Hudson Streets. After pulling the vehicle over on Sinatra Drive, the officer immediately noticed multiple warning signs. The driver struggled to produce basic documentation, showed physical signs of impairment, and smelled strongly of alcohol and burnt marijuana. Following a field sobriety test, officers placed the driver under arrest. A search of the vehicle uncovered open bottles of Hennessy and tequila on the rear floorboards. The driver was transported to police headquarters, booked on multiple traffic and alcohol-related violations, and subsequently released to a responsible party. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
