Do you really have to take a field sobriety test if a police officer pulls you over? I vehemently disagree with the advice that there are times when you should take a field sobriety test. I believe it's "really, really poor advice" to ever take one. Examples of these tests include following a pen with your eyes or standing on one foot and counting to 30. There is too much "room for error" that you can't control, and taking these tests on the roadside will likely result in you giving the police "indicators of impairment" and helping them build a case for a DUI conviction.
