On January 2, 2024, Chillicothe Police Officer Kight noticed a vehicle driving with no headlights and expired registration tags. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which pulled into a gas station. The 24-year-old driver, who was exhibiting very unusual mannerisms, admitted to smoking an illegal substance. Officer Kight then turned his attention to the passenger, who was sitting in the backseat. Officer Kight asked her to identify herself, but she refused. Officer Kight then stated that he could smell cannabis coming from the vehicle and the driver presented a joint. Both the driver and passenger were removed from the vehicle and the passenger was forced to identify herself under threat of arrest for obstruction. It turns out that she had a warrant for her arrest from a neighboring county. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the county line, where she was turned out to an awaiting sheriff's deputy. Meanwhile, the driver was asked to perform field sobriety tests and at the conclusion, she was arrested for DUI. She was transported to the county jail, where she provided a urine specimen. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
