On May 21, 2023, Port St. Lucie Police responded to a two-car crash in St. Lucie County, Florida. The driver of the maroon Taurus, Tara Ann Donnelly, age 38, refused to provide her license, registration, or insurance. She was found to have no active insurance. A third-party witness provided photos and video of her driving between lanes before the crash. 911 dispatch confirmed the collision was heard live on the call. She was found at fault for brake-checking the other driver. Officers deployed a taser after she refused to exit the vehicle and struck the bodycam. She later refused a urine test for DUI. She was booked into St. Lucie County Jail, the same facility where she worked as a nurse. 8 charges: resisting an officer with violence, three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, DUI with damage to property or person, resisting without violence, reckless driving with damage, and refusal to submit to DUI testing following a prior license suspension.
