On July 29, 2023, Rio Rancho Police Officer Roskos clocked a vehicle traveling 70 miles per hour (MPH) in a 40-mph zone. He attempted to stop the vehicle, but the 23-year-old driver initially failed to stop. Once the vehicle finally pulled over, Officer Roskos' police report indicates that he could immediately smell the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, all while claiming that she had not consumed any alcohol. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the police station for a breath alcohol test. The result was 0.13 and 0.12% BAC. She was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Speeding, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, and Having an Open Container of Alcohol. On January 30, 2024, she pleaded guilty to the DWI charge and the other charges were dismissed. Once she completed her court ordered sentence, which included DWI school, a fine, and community service, the DWI charge was also dismissed.
