On August 27th, 2024, officers responded to Pueblo Cantina in Jasper, Georgia, after staff reported a woman behaving erratically and refusing to leave. Upon arrival, police encountered a silent and uncooperative woman seated at the bar. She refused to speak, resisted commands, and eventually went completely limp—forcing officers to physically carry her out of the restaurant. At the jail, detention staff refused to accept her due to her extreme intoxication and combative behavior. Officers then transported her to a nearby hospital, where things escalated further. Bodycam footage shows the woman kicking a paramedic and fighting efforts to secure her for treatment. She was ultimately charged with public drunkenness and obstruction, but later pled guilty to disorderly conduct and paid a $1,430 fine. ⸻ 💬 What do you think? Should jail staff have accepted her anyway—or was the hospital the right call once she became unmanageable?
