It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: Lumberton Township Police were called about a car swerving on Route 38. It was around 5:26 PM on March 17, 2025. A witness filmed the car. The driver almost hit a utility pole. Police traced the car. It went to the home of Mayor Gina LaPlaca. Patrolman Pascal, Patrolman Rodriguez, and Sergeant Solovey went to her house. Gina was helping her son from the car. She said she was taking him home from school. The officers saw signs of her being drunk. Her car’s passenger mirror was also damaged. They asked Gina to do some tests. First was the eye-tracking test. Then she did the Walk and Turn test. Gina failed this one. She did not step heel-to-toe. Her turns were wrong. She took too many steps. The last test was the One Leg Stand. Gina did not lift her foot right. She put it down too soon. A witness saw her driving badly. She showed signs of being drunk. She failed the tests. Patrolman Pascal arrested Gina for drunk driving. They searched her car. They found an open alcohol container. Her car was taken away for 12 hours. Patrolman Pascal took Gina to the police station. At the station, Gina heard the rules. She agreed to blow into a breath test machine. She kept asking to call Chief Nippins. Sergeant Saulle ran the Alcotest. Gina’s breath alcohol level was 0.30%. This is nearly four times the legal limit. Because she was so impaired, Gina went to the hospital. Later, her husband signed papers. She was released to him. She will have a court date. Patrolman Pascal gave Gina tickets. She was charged with driving drunk. She was also charged with reckless driving. Careless driving was another charge. Driving in marked lanes was ticketed. The open container got a ticket. Driving with an old license also resulted in a ticket. Gina also faced criminal charges. She was charged with endangering a child. Cruelty and neglect of children was another charge.
