Malia Nummerdor, 38, was arrested in Charlotte County and faces a charge related to alleged sexual contact with an animal, according to reports citing the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. The case reportedly began for a completely different reason. According to the arrest report, Nummerdor’s husband had installed two security cameras inside the home after he became concerned that money was repeatedly disappearing from a coin jar. The report states that the people living in the residence were aware the cameras had been installed. It was reportedly while reviewing the recordings that the husband came across footage from a camera positioned inside a bedroom. Investigators say he believed the video showed Nummerdor engaging in sexual conduct with the family dog. The husband reportedly captured images from the recording and later provided investigators with access to the laptop where the footage was stored. Authorities then interviewed Nummerdor about what investigators had reportedly seen. According to the arrest report, Nummerdor acknowledged that she was the person shown in the footage but denied engaging in sexual contact with the animal. She reportedly told investigators that she was only petting the dog. Investigators allegedly determined that her explanation did not adequately account for what they believed was visible in the recording and described portions of her answers as contradictory. The case also gained attention online after Nummerdor’s husband reportedly discussed the allegations publicly on Facebook, where he claimed to have photographic and video evidence. Authorities subsequently arrested Nummerdor and booked her into the Charlotte County Jail. Publicly available social media posts reportedly show Nummerdor with her husband, whom she married in 2023, along with two children. Those family details do not establish anything about the allegations themselves.
