On February 7, 2025, Las Cruces Police Officers responded to a report of a crashed vehicle on fire. Bystanders were able to extract the 65-yar-old woman from the burning vehicle. She was transported to the hospital, where officers attempted to administer field sobriety testing. The woman repeatedly asked officers what happened, as she had no recollection of the events. She agreed to a blood draw but the results were not revealed. She was placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) and Failure to Exercise Due Care. On April 24, 2025, the charges were dismissed by the prosecutor.
