A stolen vehicle investigation escalated on December 2, 2025, after law enforcement identified a white Subaru Impreza already under observation. With air support maintaining eyes on the vehicle and deputies following behind, units continued tracking its movement as traffic began to slow. As the vehicle’s pace decreased, patrol units moved into position, surrounding it and cutting off any path forward. During the attempted takedown, the driver tried to force his way out by accelerating and reversing, striking multiple patrol vehicles and causing significant damage. Despite repeated verbal commands, the suspect refused to comply. A Taser was deployed, and he was eventually taken into custody after continued resistance. The suspect was transported to the county jail and booked on seven total charges, including Grand Theft Auto, Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, three counts of Resisting an Officer with Violence, and one count of Resisting Without Violence. He appeared before the court the following day for first appearance, where probable cause was found and he was determined to be indigent, qualifying for a public defender. Bond was set across multiple charges with conditions that included in-house arrest with GPS monitoring. The defendant remained in custody following first appearance. A later bond hearing was held, during which a defense motion to modify bond was denied. The court ordered that bond conditions remain as previously set, and the defendant continued to be held in custody. The case is scheduled to return to court early in the new year, with an additional court conference set for later in January, as the case proceeds through the judicial system.
