In the end, the suspect was cited for fishing without a license and 6 catfish over the limit. The total fine was $1,011.00, almost $7,400 less than it would’ve been if the officer cited him for every fish. We called the Connecticut Centralized Infractions Bureau and confirmed the fines were paid in full 8 days after this interaction.
