On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, officers responded to a disorderly person call at Ringwood Borough Hall. The suspect, who was arguing about a delinquency charge on their tax bill , became "irate" and began screaming at finance employees and officers. Despite being repeatedly asked to leave for causing a disturbance , the suspect refused , escalated the situation by screaming and blocking the entrance to Borough Hall. Upon being told they were under arrest , the suspect fled to their vehicle, locked the door, and ignored multiple verbal commands. After eventually exiting, the suspect actively resisted being placed in handcuffs by tensing their arms , requiring officers to use compliance holds to achieve the lawful arrest. The suspect was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
