As the vehicle approaches an intersection with pedestrians waiting to cross, the driver — Jared — fails to yield. When officers activate their emergency lights to conduct the stop, the situation escalates quickly. According to the police report, Jared initially refuses to provide his license, registration, or insurance, demanding a supervisor instead. After multiple commands to exit the vehicle, officers eventually pull him out and place him in handcuffs. The passenger, Vincent, also refuses repeated orders to step out. Officers physically remove him as well after he tenses up and resists efforts to detain him. A BB gun resembling a real firearm is later found in the glove compartment. Both men were arrested on the same criminal charge: Resisting an Officer Without Violence. Jared also received two traffic citations — one for failing to yield to pedestrians and another for careless driving. Court records show that both individuals later entered not-guilty pleas and requested jury trials.
