#lrhn #police #policepursuit #arkansasstatepolice On August 16, 2023, while operating stationary radar on Southland Drive. I observed a vehicle traveling east on Southland Drive which appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed. Using radar to confirm my observation, the suspect was traveling 70 mph in a 45-mph zone. Once the suspect passed my location, I turned behind it to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle then accelerated at a high rate-of-speed and began to flee. I then turned on my emergency lights and sirens and informed Troop D Communications I was in pursuit of the vehicle. The vehicle traveled east on Southland Drive until it approached the intersection of Southland Drive and MLK Drive. Before turning onto MLK Drive, the car crossed into the on-coming lane of traffic on Southland Drive avoiding the intersection where it turned south on MLK Drive. While traveling south on MLK Drive, the vehicle turned in front of a semi-truck already in the process of turning causing the semi-truck to come to an abrupt stop. After passing the semi-truck, the vehicle turned left going eastbound on Interstate 40. Once on Interstate 40, the vehicle traveled east at speeds reaching triple-digits. Still traveling eastbound, the car recklessly drove in and out of all three lanes of traffic without showing any regard for public safety. During the pursuit, the license plate number was successfully identified. The plate returned to a 2017 Toyota Corolla with an address in West Memphis, Arkansas. Once the vehicle crossed the Arkansas/Tennessee state line, the pursuit was terminated. The operator of the vehicle has not been identified and is still listed as unknown.
