A Christmas morning crash in Stuart, Florida, leaves a 2015 car stranded with one wheel on the sidewalk. Police bodycam records a driver who seems just as puzzled as the officers. She and her passenger were heading to Wawa for air because the tires were low. Her passenger gives officers a clearer account of the U-turn, while she keeps returning to the tires and the tow truck. As officers check for injuries and compare their accounts, the questions move beyond the damaged car. The driver becomes increasingly cautious about what she says—and what she agrees to do.
