On November 10, 2024, Lakewood Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. The 24-year-old driver of the at-fault vehicle allegedly proceeded through an intersection striking another car. The woman initially denied consuming alcohol, but eventually she admitted to drinking hours earlier. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and she was subsequently arrested for Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). She was transported to the Lakewood Police Station where she submitted to an evidential breath test. The result was 0.157%. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
