In August 2022, a dispute over meat delivered through a Meals on Wheels program ended in tragedy. Sixty-two-year-old Keith Kwiecinski strangled his 65-year-old neighbor, Patricia "Patty" Falkenstern, inside her apartment in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. Instead of reporting what had happened, Kwiecinski remained in the apartment with Patty's body for two days. During that time, he answered the door for the Meals on Wheels volunteer and claimed Patty was sleeping. When the volunteer realized she hadn't seen Patty for several days, she became concerned and requested a police welfare check. What officers found inside the apartment led to Kwiecinski's arrest and a homicide investigation that shocked the community. Patricia Falkenstern was an artist, a mother, and a valued member of her community. Kwiecinski later pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and mutilating a dead body. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison and will not be eligible for parole until at least 2049. **Location:** Ann Arbor Police Department, Washtenaw County, Michigan This video is presented for educational and news reporting purposes using publicly available body-worn camera footage obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.
